Michael A. Tham, CPA
Managing Partner & Partner in-charge of Financial Statement Services
Mike is a certified public accountant and the partner-in-charge of financial statement services for L. A. Champagne & Co., L.L.P., a position he has held since 1978. In this capacity, he is responsible for most of the firm’s audit, review and compilation services. He graduated from Louisiana State University, receiving a BS degree in 1973, and joined the firm in that same year. In January of 2006 Mike took over the position of managing partner of L.A. Champagne.
Over the years Mike has been active in the CPA profession and in the Baton Rouge community.
He has served as chairman of several committees of the Society of Louisiana CPAs, including Legislation, Annual Meeting, and the Louisiana Accounting and Auditing Conference; and, as a member of a number of other committees of the Louisiana Society and the American Institute of CPAs. Mike is a past president of the Louisiana Society's Baton Rouge Chapter, and has served on the Society's board of directors.
Mike has been a member of the State Board of Certified Public Accountants of Louisiana since 1989, and is currently serving as Chairman of the Board. He has also serve terms as Secretary and Treasurer during his tenure on the Board. He has also previously served as a member of the Board of Directors of the National Association of State Boards of Accountancy.
Mike is also involved in service to the community. He is a past-president of the Audubon Kiwanis Club and is presently a member of the Baton Rouge Rotary Club. He has served as President and as a member of the board of directors of the Association of Retarded Citizens of Baton Rouge. Mike has also served on the boards of a number of other community organizations.
