Susan S. Tham, CPA
Partner in-charge of Tax Services
Ms. Tham graduated Summa Cum Laude with a B.S degree in Accounting from Louisiana State University in 1981. Immediately after graduation she joined the national accounting firm of Deloitte, Haskins & Sells as a staff member in their tax department where she worked until 1983. For the next several years she taught accounting and business courses at Baton Rouge School of Computers and edited and wrote accounting educational materials for Prentice Hall and Simon Schuster while she raised her three children. Ms. Tham’s publications include a college text entitled “Computer Accounting” as well as several other supplementary materials and chapters on computerized accounting for other texts. In 1994, Ms. Tham joined L.A. Champagne & Co., LLP as a staff accountant in their tax and accounting services department and presently holds the position of Tax Partner. In addition to her extensive tax and accounting services experience, Ms. Tham also has experience as auditor-in-charge of several audit engagement over the years. Her experience includes work with nonprofit entities, consulting for governmental agencies, financial and tax services for service, retail, farming, and construction contractor enterprises.
Ms. Tham is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Society of Louisiana Certified Public Accountants. She currently serves on the Society’s Financial Literacy Task Force and Louisiana Tax Conference Committee and is on the Board of Louisiana Industries for the Disabled, UpLFTD, a local non-profit organization which furnishes rehabilitation services to disabled people. She is also a charter member of the Baton Rouge chapter of Business and Professional Women of America.
